On 2nd October Flygone were featured in Coventry City’s match day programme when they played MK Dons. Aswell as this Flygone’s new music video We Hold Together was also played on the big screen for everyone. To see the feature look at the picture below.

After many intense heats in the Godiva Unsigned competiton, Flygone have stormed through and won their place at Godiva Festival 2012 on the friday night in the rhythm tent. They will be playing alongside five other brilliant unsigned bands in a final contest to also play the Main Stage on the Saturday at 12:30pm although the band are very pleased with the slot they have acheived for 2012. The local bands that Flygone will be playing alongside are as follows:

Symphony State
Yes Sunshine
Dark Actors
This Modern Youth
Each performance will also be judged by an independent panel of judges on the night for a chance to play the main stage. The first band willl be on at 6pm. Flygone thanks everyone who have supported them and voted for them through the heats leading up to the festival and they hope to see you there at Godiva Festival.

Flygone have set off to sunny Cardiff to record at Longwave Studios where the likes of Kids In Glass Houses, Funeral for a Friend, Bullet for My Valentine, Motorhead & Lostprophets have all recorded. They will be working with the famous producer Romesh alongside Pete Dowsett and many more. They will be recording all their new material which wll be released later this year.

On 3rd December Flygone played with many other bands around Coventry to help raise money for their towns Cathedral. A large crack appeared in the south-west corner of the Cathedral Ruins in Coventry next to Bayley Lane. Scaffolding has been erected to avoid the threat of collapse, but urgent repairs are needed before the cold weather arrives to prevent the damage from worsening. Flygone played along with some other top Coventry acts such as The Ripps, The Session, Charles Dexter Ward and the Imagineers, Yes Sunshine, The Fallows, The Diesels, The Shackletons and Russian Gundogs.

Flygone started their set with a fantastic intro with the lead singer Bradley standing at the side of the stage, nerves? Or maybe he just likes to make a rock star e
ntrance, hoping it’s the latter. He comes on and releases a fantastic unique voice which just melts into the other instruments to create an amazing sound. The first song finishes and the second almost falls into heavy metal territory. Then from nowhere the bassist starts almost rapping to coincide with the songs. All the members of Flygone looked like their instruments were part of their bodies because they just seemed so comfortable with them. The guitarist Jack danced with his a lot and even got down on the floor like a true rock star, watch out for these guys.

On the 31st August Flygone shared stages with the Kentucky rock legends Cage the Elephant. As they smashed through their UK tour they asked Flygone if they would support them for their Coventry date which was held at Coventry’s finest venue, The Kasbah. Here’s a little teaser/documentory for you all of the gig. In this video you will see a little insight into the band aswell as hearing some brief snippets of their new material which they will be releasing in 2012:
